What are.....Grip Sheets?
729
Grip Sheets, also known as Anti-Slip Sheets, Non-Slip Pallet Sheets or Pallet Stabilisation Sheets, are protective separator sheets placed between layers of cartons, bags or products on a pallet to prevent slipping and movement during storage, handling and transportation.
Grip sheets work by increasing friction between pallet layers, helping to stabilise palletised loads and reduce the risk of products shifting, collapsing or becoming damaged during transit.
Typically manufactured from coated recycled kraft paper or polyester, grip sheets are commonly used in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and distribution. They can be used alongside pallet wrap and other pallet stabilisation products to provide additional load security.
How Do Grip Sheets Work?
Grip sheets feature a specially treated non-slip surface that increases friction between stacked products. By placing a sheet between each layer of cartons or packaged goods, movement is reduced without requiring adhesive or additional wrapping between layers.
Unlike conventional cardboard separator sheets, grip sheets are specifically designed to improve load stability. They are particularly effective when transporting smooth cartons, plastic bags, sacks and other products that may otherwise slide against each other.
What Are the Benefits of Grip Sheets?
-
Improved Pallet Stability: Reduces movement and slipping between layers of palletised products.
-
Reduced Product Damage: Helps prevent cartons and other packaged goods from shifting or collapsing during transport.
-
Cost-Effective: May reduce the need for excessive pallet wrap, strapping or other stabilisation materials, depending on the load.
-
Moisture Protection: Selected grades offer water-resistant properties that help protect packaged goods from moisture.
-
Versatile Applications: Suitable for cartons, plastic sacks, paper products and a wide range of palletised goods.
-
Easy Application: Can be inserted manually or used with automated palletising systems.
What Types of Grip Sheets Are Available?
Grip sheets are available in several materials and thicknesses to suit different pallet loads and applications.
Kraft Paper Grip Sheets – Manufactured from recycled kraft paper with a non-slip coating, providing an economical and recyclable solution for stabilising pallet loads.
Polyester Grip Sheets – Clear, thin polyester sheets designed to provide anti-slip performance between layers of packaged products.
Get Packed supplies Grip Sheets for Pallets in a variety of grades, including 90gsm and 150gsm kraft paper sheets measuring 1100mm x 1100mm, as well as clear polyester options.
What Is the Difference Between Grip Sheets and Pallet Sheets?
Although both products are placed between layers of palletised goods, they serve slightly different purposes.
Grip Sheets are specifically designed to increase friction between products, preventing slippage and improving pallet stability.
Cardboard Pallet Sheets, also known as pallet pads or layer pads, primarily separate product layers, distribute weight, and protect against damage. While they can help with load stability, they generally don't provide the same anti-slip performance as specially coated grip sheets.
Can Grip Sheets Be Used with Pallet Wrap?
Yes. Grip sheets are commonly used alongside pallet wrap to improve overall load stability.
While pallet wrap secures the outside of a pallet load, grip sheets help prevent movement between the individual layers. Combining these products adds protection during storage and transport, especially for heavy or unstable pallet loads.
