What is a Bag Sealer

A bag sealer also known as a heat sealer or plastic bag sealer, is a machine used to securely seal plastic bags and pouches by applying heat to fuse two layers of plastic together.

One of the most common types is an impulse heat sealer. To seal a bag, the open end is placed between the sealing jaws and the jaws are closed in a scissor-like action. Heat is applied for a short period through the sealing element, causing the plastic layers to melt and bond together. Once cooled, this creates a strong, neat, and reliable seal across the bag opening.

Bag sealers are commonly used for sealing polyethylene, polypropylene and other heat-sealable plastic bags and film. They are widely used in packaging, food preparation, warehousing, manufacturing and retail applications to help protect products from dust, moisture, contamination and handling.

Depending on the application, bag sealers are available in a range of styles including impulse sealers, constant heat sealers, foot-operated sealers and continuous band sealers.
