Pad Counter or Measuring Spoon

A Pad Counter, also known as a measuring spoon, is a tool designed to accurately count the number of sheets you want in each pad. By setting the adjustable pad counter to your desired height, you can ensure that each pad contains an equal amount of sheets every time.

Constructed with user comfort and durability in mind, these padding counters feature a solid wood handle for ergonomic use and a chrome-plated steel spade for lasting strength. They are particularly useful for separating a thick stack of paper into multiple thinner stacks when padding.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use a Pad Counter:

Clamp the Counter: Start by clamping the counter around a stack of paper representing your desired thickness.
Squeeze and Rotate: Squeeze the counter closed and rotate the handle to tighten it securely around the paper stack.
Separate the Stack: Utilize the pad counter to effectively separate the thick stack of paper into multiple thinner stacks.
Organise with Board Pad Backing: Place each separated stack aside, using chipboard pad backing to keep them separated.
Jog and Press: Jog the new stack to align the sheets, and then place it into your padding press for normal use with Padding Glue.
